According to the most recent statistics, Southbury, Connecticut is a safe community with good schools featuring upscale homes and neighborhoods and is conveniently located to the ocean and to a couple of metropolitan centers. Readily available information on schools, population, income, and business all suggest that a Connecticut real estate appraisal for a home in Southbury, CT will have a higher value than a similar home in many other Connecticut towns.

Almost equidistant between Waterbury and Danbury, Southbury, CT, a town of about 20,000 people, is largely a bedroom community for those who commute by car to job centers in larger cities including New Haven, Danbury, and Waterbury and by train or car to New York City. For those interested in the wetlands regulations, copies of the Inland Wetlands Regulations ($10.00) and Wetland Map ($3.00) are available at the town office during regular office hours, The commission regulates wetlands, watercourses, open water bodies plus a setback area.  Setbacks are 50 feet from wetlands, watercourses, ponds and 100 feet from Bullet Hill Brook, Eight Mile Brook, Transylvania Brook, Pomperaug River, Shepaug River, Lake Lillinonah, Housatonic River and Lake Zoar.
